Rank And Style Event in Chelsea

Last night I attended a fab event in Chelsea for http://www.rankandstyle.com. The event was located in a super chic lounge in Chelsea. Rank and Style had a few signature drinks and gave out fab manicure’s provided by Manicube! I left the party with a new nail color (Fiesta by Essie) and an amazing gift bag with lots of goodies from some of the Top Ten lists.

A very easy sign up on the site and you just like that your shopping becomes simple and easy. They bring you the top ten lists for beauty products, fashion trends, and more. You can even request a list for them to make for you! How personalized is that?? I love it! Also, there is one beauty list and one fashion list per week that way you get the best of both worlds. I think this is a very innovative and smart way to find that perfect product for your needs. I definitely get overwhelmed by the selections when I go shopping (especially for beauty products!) with marketing and all of the fancy labeling.. how do you choose?! This website simplifies all of that for you, and you’re left with a comforting feeling knowing your next purchase is “top ten” approved! 😉 Doesn’t get any better than that!

This link will give you more information on how the magic happens 🙂

Fashion Event Night

Last week I went to OUT NYC, a trendy hotel that just opened their restaurant KTCHN. The event was very fun and a great place for networking. If you were in NYC last week then you know how beautiful (and humid) the weather was! My curly locks had to be put up in a tight bun and that flow-y maxi dress was the perfect fit for this kind of night. This maxi dress is my favorite! I got it last year from BEBE and am absolutely in love with how comfortable it is. Plus, the print is so colorful and fab that I don’t need much accessories. I paired it with long tassel earrings to match the hint of crochet in the dress and I was set for the night!

Knee-high Lover

The knee-high gladiator trend is really big this spring/summer. From the runways to the stores, I see it in all variations. I was a little skeptical about the high heel gladiators, but I’m all about trying new trends and fashion risks and I actually do like them! It’s all about incorporating them into your own style and making it work for you.

The flat knee-high gladiator shoes are more casual and can be worn with cut off shorts or even a fun floral skirt/dress. The trick is to get them in a neutral color, that way you can pair them with any fun print or floral.

I love the boho feel that they give off and most importantly they are so fun to add into my wardrobe!

Mint-y Fresh

Pastel colors are always fit for spring looks but there is something about the color mint that just symbolizes a fresh and clean look. Whether the color is on your nails, top, bottom, bag,  or jewelry – it’s a pop color that always looks well-done. I love painting my nails mint green for Spring because it just adds that extra color POP. Also, mint green goes very well with more vibrant colors such as coral, purple, and silver. I think it’s also a very feminine touch to any outfit. A pastel that works on everyone. If you don’t want to go all out in this color, then try an accessory first to see how easy this color is to pull off.

Coachella, see you soon

Last weekend was the first weekend of Coachella in California and the outfits were everything and more! Personally, I’ve never been but next year it’s on my list of summer music festivals. I think my favorite part of Coachella is the style! It’s my favorite combination of boho, chic, fringe, southwestern, and free spirit. Bloggers, actors, models, musicians, and more are always on the scene at Coachella. Check out some of my favorite’s from last weekend… and Coachella 2014 I will so see you soon! Fringe and all ~

Trend Alert: The High Slit

When the weather gets warmer, the slits get higher. This season I am seeing a lot of ultra high slits on jersey dresses and maxi skirts and I have to say, I’m loving it! It’s important to know what part of your body you like to accentuate and if your part are your legs then this is the trend for you! I love the idea of the high slit maxi dress because it reveals a little bit of skin but not too much. There is a fine line between classy sexy and just trashy. My rule for this kind of stuff is to cover the top if I’m showing the bottom part of my body. Whether it fits in your style or not, you should try these sexy dresses for a night out with your girls, date night, or even a concert night.

See below for some looks!

Michelle Obama Vogue’n

I was completely fascinated to see Michelle Obama on the cover of this month’s Vogue Issue. An inspiration to many women, she is graceful in her presence always. I love to see powerful women on magazine covers and think it is important to highlight them for our youth. After all, these magazines truly shape a lot of women’s perceptions about themselves. So this month I appreciate VOGUE and their beautiful cover and wanted to share some of the fab interview with you.

On the importance of family: “Our job is, first and foremost, to make sure our family is whole. You know, we have small kids; they’re growing every day. But I think we were both pretty straightforward when we said, Our No. 1 priority is making sure that our family is whole.

On her mother Marian: “My mother doesn’t do interviews but let me tell you: She is not long on pretense. She’s the first one to remind us who we are. And it’s been very helpful having her living with us. . . We can check reality against her sensibilities.”

On what she’s learned from her husband, President Barack Obama: “Well, patience and calm I’m borrowing. Or trying to mirror. I’ve learned that from my husband, that sort of, you know, ability to not get too high or too low with changes and bumps in the road. . . to do more breathing in and just going with it. I’m learning that every day. And to the extent that I’ve made changes in my life, it’s just sort of stepping back and seeing a change not as something to guard against but as a wonderful addition. . . that can make life fun and unexpected.”

I love it. 🙂 Be sure to pick up this copy and read more from this interview.

NY Fashion Week Recap 2013!

Hey Naturalista’s! After a whirlwind of NYFW events I finally was able to compile some of my fav. looks and times from the shows I was able to attend with my dear friend and Blogger, Martha Luna (www.mdollnyc.com) Check her blog out!

NYFW was everything I imagined and more! It was a jam-packed day full of shows back to back and many, many familiar faces in the fashion industry. Super great place to network, too. I met a lot of designers, bloggers, videographers, models, and more!! Everyone was just so friendly and super sweet. Really just trying to get their business card out there and get their name out to as many ppl possible.

Besides the free goodies and VIP, my favorite part was def. the actual runway shows. The music and papparazzi really set the vibe to the show. As the models walked out on the runway wearing some of the most beautiful designs for Fall I began to feel what living out a dream really feels like. It was truly everything I had anticipated and more! My favorite show was the Monique Lhullier show, I didn’t get good pics b/c I was so just so intrigued and in the moment. PS. the shows are super short! They last about 8-12 minutes. So can you imagine? Working on a line for about 6 months for a 10 min. presentation with a million ppl watching?? Talk about pressure!

Check out some of pics. to give you a bit of what I felt on Day three of NYFW at Lincoln Center, NYC.
