The knee-high gladiator trend is really big this spring/summer. From the runways to the stores, I see it in all variations. I was a little skeptical about the high heel gladiators, but I’m all about trying new trends and fashion risks and I actually do like them! It’s all about incorporating them into your own style and making it work for you.
The flat knee-high gladiator shoes are more casual and can be worn with cut off shorts or even a fun floral skirt/dress. The trick is to get them in a neutral color, that way you can pair them with any fun print or floral.
I love the boho feel that they give off and most importantly they are so fun to add into my wardrobe!
The RainRoom in the Museum of Modern Art is an art installation that is up until the end of July where you literally get to walk through water! This was one of the most fascinating exhibits I have ever experienced. There is nothing like interactive art, it really inspires and makes you feel invincible. The wait for this room was really long, as it always is on weekends, but if you are in the NYC area I’d suggest going during the week instead. The artist only allows up to 10 people at one time and there is no time limit inside the exhibit. It’s designed for not too many people b/c you get a better feel of the rain room and also have more space to walk thru it. When I walked into this dark room, the rain was literally pouring down (seemed like a monsoon in there!) the sound was majestic and calming. I was a bit hesitant b/c I really thought I would get wet- but I absolutely did not one bit! I was walking thru this entire monsoon of downpours and was dry the entire time. The way it works is the sensors detect your body and it just stops raining on you! Incredible, breathtaking, I def. suggest going!!
Random International’s immersive environment Rain Room (2012), a major component of the MoMA PS1 exhibition EXPO 1: New York,is presented in the lot directly adjacent to The Museum of Modern Art. A field of falling water that pauses wherever a human body is detected, Rain Room offers visitors the experience of controlling the rain. Known for their distinctive approach to contemporary digital practice, Random International’s experimental projects come alive through audience interaction—and Rain Room is their largest and most ambitious to date. The work invites visitors to explore the roles that science, technology, and human ingenuity can play in stabilizing our environment. Using digital technology, Rain Roomcreates a carefully choreographed downpour, simultaneously encouraging people to become performers on an unexpected stage and creating an intimate atmosphere of contemplation. On Wednesday I had the pleasure to attend an opening of a showroom in SoHo exclusively for stylists only. My friend, another wardrobe stylist to entertainment industry, invited me to go with her. Mahna Mahna showroom opened this week and we were the first stylists to preview their collection. It was FAB! It was nothing like I have ever seen before.
This showroom specializes in designer and vintage pieces bought from Paris, Japan, Milan, New York, etc. The buyers travel all over the world picking up the most fab designer dresses/shoes/accessories/suits/tops.. and more. Their idea is to be a “one stop shop” for stylists that way you can pick up a whole outfit head to toe for your client. Usually, showrooms will only specialize in dresses or couture pieces- but Mahna Mahna has it ALL. They even had a private room where you can dress your client and actually try on the clothing. The ladies were super sweet at Mahna Mahna and I really look forward to pulling some of their pieces!
These are some of my faves from the showroom, but I didn’t even go thru it all b/c there was just SO much fabulosity!!! The Pucci dresses were major, prob. my favorite designer right now!

Every First Saturday of the month Brooklyn Museum throws a huge, free, open party. This is usually with special artists (this month was Jesse Boykins) amazing art exhibits, and a DJ. Everyone comes out in their fashion forward outfit and mingles while being surrounded by the most beautiful art and sculptures. It’s such a great event and I try to go almost every month! It starts around 7 pm and ends at 11 pm but Brooklyn is full of nightlife and great restaurants to finish off your night.
The style you see at first Saturdays is absolutely incredible! It’s such a “scene” as my best friend, Lilly, describes it. Guys and girls just show out in the most funky and trendy outfits!
This time I felt like being a bit bold and mixing a print with a bright neon color.
#OOTN- Shirt- paper denim & cloth, jean jacket- Forever21, Pants- American Apparel, shoes- gift from Israel, necklace- boutique in NYC (don’t remember the name)
My friend and I love Indian food! We had to grab a quick bite before our evening started! YUM!
As the sun is shining my hopes are rising. This month I am welcoming a lot of growth, excitement, and peace into my life. Every month I like to set new goals. For the month of May I am trying to develop a healthier lifestyle with more juices into my daily diet and no more junk food! Also, going to the gym at least 3-4 times a week. Taking only one hour out of your day to work out can make a huge difference in your mind, body, and health! Along with these two goals, I will be revealing something new to my naturalista fashionista’s very soon! I am excited about it and I hope you will be too! So, stay tuned and have a FAB month of MAY 🙂
Remember, April showers bring May flowers so whatever got you down in the month of April will only uplift you to smell the flowers in the month of May.
