Although it is the start of my favorite fashion season, Fall, I still am missing summer time! I decided to share a fun photo shoot I did this summer in Brooklyn, NY. The set was in DUMBO, which is an area of Brooklyn overlooking Manhattan. The beautiful bridge is right behind me and I had an amazing time soaking up the sun, the views, and most importantly the summer time! You will be missed, summer ❤
I kept my outfit flirty and fun to go with my mood of the day. H&M neon green tank tucked into my favorite mid-waisted shorts from Forever21! (such a great find) I accessorized with colorful bangles I got from the boutique store, Steps, in NYC and bright cobalt blue nails. (Love this color, easily adds a pop of color to any outfit) Also, a gifted handmade necklace from Ghana and my mirrored blue sunnies.
:) Until next year ❤
A few days ago I attended a pop up shop event in the Lower East Side with my stylist friend, Elisha. I love finding out about new brands and this specific one started in London. We both met the designer behind Religion and got to chat with him for a little. Open bar was sponsored by Ty Ku Liqueur. The event also did a collab. with an amazing artist, The Black Soft. The combination of the dark paintings went along very well with the ambiance and the clothing. Religion is based on black, white, pops of maroon, and grey. The color scheme is simple but the details are impeccable.
Some pictures of my favorite items from the pop-up shop, the amazing artwork, and a taxi poster I found outside (that I thought was so fun!) :
Last week I went to OUT NYC, a trendy hotel that just opened their restaurant KTCHN. The event was very fun and a great place for networking. If you were in NYC last week then you know how beautiful (and humid) the weather was! My curly locks had to be put up in a tight bun and that flow-y maxi dress was the perfect fit for this kind of night. This maxi dress is my favorite! I got it last year from BEBE and am absolutely in love with how comfortable it is. Plus, the print is so colorful and fab that I don’t need much accessories. I paired it with long tassel earrings to match the hint of crochet in the dress and I was set for the night!
On Wednesday I had the pleasure to attend an opening of a showroom in SoHo exclusively for stylists only. My friend, another wardrobe stylist to entertainment industry, invited me to go with her. Mahna Mahna showroom opened this week and we were the first stylists to preview their collection. It was FAB! It was nothing like I have ever seen before.
This showroom specializes in designer and vintage pieces bought from Paris, Japan, Milan, New York, etc. The buyers travel all over the world picking up the most fab designer dresses/shoes/accessories/suits/tops.. and more. Their idea is to be a “one stop shop” for stylists that way you can pick up a whole outfit head to toe for your client. Usually, showrooms will only specialize in dresses or couture pieces- but Mahna Mahna has it ALL. They even had a private room where you can dress your client and actually try on the clothing. The ladies were super sweet at Mahna Mahna and I really look forward to pulling some of their pieces!
These are some of my faves from the showroom, but I didn’t even go thru it all b/c there was just SO much fabulosity!!! The Pucci dresses were major, prob. my favorite designer right now!
