Audrey always Inspires

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” – Audrey Hepburn

M.I.A. Versus Versace

One of the main reasons why I love fashion is because of the creativity. I was patiently waiting for the M.I.A. Versus Versace collection because I truly admire M.I.A. as an artist and was so curious as to what she would create. Versace has been quite popular in the music industry these days and I feel this collab. is so perfect. All artists have their own style, or a stylist, and M.I.A has always been an artist to watch. Her colorful, vibrant spirit always shines thru her music videos and red carpet appearances.

I really like the collaboration with M.I.A. and Versus Verasace. It’s def. outrageous and in your face type of style, but it fits with the artist and the vintage look of Versace. The whole collection plays tribute to “bootlegging” culture and features some of the loudest prints I have ever seen! It’s fun and playful and very new-age. I can see a few of the pieces on celebrities as well as street-style fashionista’s. Some of the T-shirt dresses are really fun, I’d def. rock one to a concert. I also really like the styling of the lookbook, it’s simple and clean and lets the prints speak for themselves. (Which they do!)

Summer Lovin’ Photo Shoot

Although it is the start of my favorite fashion season, Fall, I still am missing summer time! I decided to share a fun photo shoot I did this summer in Brooklyn, NY. The set was in DUMBO, which is an area of Brooklyn overlooking Manhattan. The beautiful bridge is right behind me and I had an amazing time soaking up the sun, the views, and most importantly the summer time! You will be missed, summer ❤

I kept my outfit flirty and fun to go with my mood of the day. H&M neon green tank tucked into my favorite mid-waisted shorts from Forever21! (such a great find) I accessorized with  colorful bangles I got from the boutique store, Steps, in NYC and bright cobalt blue nails. (Love this color, easily adds a pop of color to any outfit) Also, a gifted handmade necklace from Ghana and my mirrored blue sunnies.

Fashion Event Night

Last week I went to OUT NYC, a trendy hotel that just opened their restaurant KTCHN. The event was very fun and a great place for networking. If you were in NYC last week then you know how beautiful (and humid) the weather was! My curly locks had to be put up in a tight bun and that flow-y maxi dress was the perfect fit for this kind of night. This maxi dress is my favorite! I got it last year from BEBE and am absolutely in love with how comfortable it is. Plus, the print is so colorful and fab that I don’t need much accessories. I paired it with long tassel earrings to match the hint of crochet in the dress and I was set for the night!

Saturday night at the Brooklyn Museum

Every First Saturday of the month Brooklyn Museum throws a huge, free, open party. This is usually with special artists (this month was Jesse Boykins) amazing art exhibits, and a DJ. Everyone comes out in their fashion forward outfit and mingles while being surrounded by the most beautiful art and sculptures. It’s such a great event and I try to go almost every month! It starts around 7 pm and ends at 11 pm but Brooklyn is full of nightlife and great restaurants to finish off your night.

The style you see at first Saturdays is absolutely incredible! It’s such a “scene” as my best friend, Lilly, describes it. Guys and girls just show out in the most funky and trendy outfits!

This time I felt like being a bit bold and mixing a print with a bright neon color.

#OOTN- Shirt- paper denim & cloth, jean jacket- Forever21, Pants- American Apparel, shoes- gift from Israel, necklace- boutique in NYC (don’t remember the name)

Mint-y Fresh

Pastel colors are always fit for spring looks but there is something about the color mint that just symbolizes a fresh and clean look. Whether the color is on your nails, top, bottom, bag,  or jewelry – it’s a pop color that always looks well-done. I love painting my nails mint green for Spring because it just adds that extra color POP. Also, mint green goes very well with more vibrant colors such as coral, purple, and silver. I think it’s also a very feminine touch to any outfit. A pastel that works on everyone. If you don’t want to go all out in this color, then try an accessory first to see how easy this color is to pull off.

Trend Alert: Fringe Fest

There are some fashion trends that I just simply can’t get tired of. This spring/summer fashion trend that I am obsessing over is FRINGE! I absolutely love the movement, fun, free spirit, boho feel that fringe adds to an outfit. Any time I wear it, I just want to move and be free. Show off the FAB. movement and be noticed! The newest trend that I’ve spotted lately is fringe accessories, but not just your average cross-bag fringe, I’m taking elaborate fringe necklaces and long earrings! Yes! So forget the jacket and bags, fringe is taking over this season on a whole other level— and No complaints from me 🙂 ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Coachella, see you soon

Last weekend was the first weekend of Coachella in California and the outfits were everything and more! Personally, I’ve never been but next year it’s on my list of summer music festivals. I think my favorite part of Coachella is the style! It’s my favorite combination of boho, chic, fringe, southwestern, and free spirit. Bloggers, actors, models, musicians, and more are always on the scene at Coachella. Check out some of my favorite’s from last weekend… and Coachella 2014 I will so see you soon! Fringe and all ~
