DIY Project

A couple of days ago my co-worker and decided to make our own bracelet. Working in the garment district in NYC there are a bunch of different trim stores and bead stores all over. We were looking for some studs and ended up finding the cutest little charms- one idea to the next we bought all the supplies to make our own bracelets. We figured why would we go out and buy something that we can just make our own way? It’s completely original, a fun project, and most importantly the feeling you get after is the best! Making accessories is def. a fun task because it’s super creative and allows you to stretch beyond your imagination. The best part is that it’s super easy! Really! It took me about half an hour to make my bracelet and the time felt like nothing because I was enjoying every moment.

Location for beads — Beads @ 5th. But, I would also recommend Beads World on 39th Street and Broadway.

Sneaker Diva Fly

As much as I’m obsessed with summer and the gorge weather, one of my other fave seasons is FALL. Mostly because of the amazing fashion and NYFW, of course 🙂 The hottest trend right now is the wedge sneaker. I must admit that although I always like to be fashion forward, not all trends are suitable for me. I pick and choose what I like the best and add my own flair to it. Being confident within yourself is the best way to rock a trend 😉

This new twist to the sneaker is an inspiration of the fab Isabel Marant. Totally puts the chic and edge into a sneaker. Every store is re-creating them for a range of decisions for us fashionistas. Steve Madden, Aldo, Urban Outffitters are just some of the major stores you can find them. With different colors and textures the possibilities are endless!

I have my eye on leather black for this Fall.. check out some of my faves and how celebs we love rocked them:

Currently Channeling: Whitney Houston

Happy Birthday to the brightest star, Whitney Houston, may she continue to rest in peace. Today I nominate her for my Currently Channeling style segment. Every now and then I like to highlight some of my favorite style icons that continue to flow into today’s fashion. Music and fashion have always been intertwined, each one compliments each other. I love how fashion can be in everything and anything. It’s simply what you perceive it to be. You march to the beat of your own drum and Whitney was exactly the epitome of that concept.

Whitney was an amazing and talented individual who always had a fashionista vibe to her. From back in the day, I always remember her for her big curls and 80’s flashback brights. The original, creator, and innovator. She had her own look and that is one of the many reasons why I fell in love .. from “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” to “Heartbreak Hotel” she captured every one’s attention with her outstanding vocals and heartfelt messages. Continuing to vibe out to her today and everyday..

Point Em’ Out

My newest obsession is the metallic pointed toe heel! Super chic and classy with a touch of edge. I absolutely love this shoe with a skinny jean/pant or even a pencil skirt for a more professional look that can turn into a night out. I’m all the about the subtle details making an outfit stand out and these babies do exactly that! Ladies, if heels are just not your thing, you can opt for a cute pair of flats as well. Same idea with no heel, either way you’re stylin’ naturalista fashionista. 😉

Get inspired…
