Army in Style

This season the military look is everywhere! From the combat boots, to the vintage flair jackets, camo pants, and even some army inspired accessories are coming from runways to stores. Combat boots have always been a staple  in my closet but this season I’m all about the jackets!! For men/women this style is just perfect. Over a chunky sweater, layer it with scarves, big earrings and jeans tucked in your boots- perfect Saturday brunch outfit if ya ask me.

*My hint– working in NYC I’ve found all the little gems and secrets and I’m sharing this one with my naturalista’s .. Google “ARMY STORES” around your hood.. These spots are wayyyy cheaper than those jackets you will find at high end stores. More authentic and vintage too 😉

Take a look at some of my inspiration for this post!

Sneaker Diva Fly

As much as I’m obsessed with summer and the gorge weather, one of my other fave seasons is FALL. Mostly because of the amazing fashion and NYFW, of course 🙂 The hottest trend right now is the wedge sneaker. I must admit that although I always like to be fashion forward, not all trends are suitable for me. I pick and choose what I like the best and add my own flair to it. Being confident within yourself is the best way to rock a trend 😉

This new twist to the sneaker is an inspiration of the fab Isabel Marant. Totally puts the chic and edge into a sneaker. Every store is re-creating them for a range of decisions for us fashionistas. Steve Madden, Aldo, Urban Outffitters are just some of the major stores you can find them. With different colors and textures the possibilities are endless!

I have my eye on leather black for this Fall.. check out some of my faves and how celebs we love rocked them:

Point Em’ Out

My newest obsession is the metallic pointed toe heel! Super chic and classy with a touch of edge. I absolutely love this shoe with a skinny jean/pant or even a pencil skirt for a more professional look that can turn into a night out. I’m all the about the subtle details making an outfit stand out and these babies do exactly that! Ladies, if heels are just not your thing, you can opt for a cute pair of flats as well. Same idea with no heel, either way you’re stylin’ naturalista fashionista. 😉

Nail Art

This summer’s nail trend is crazy, over the top, neon, and fun! Nails have become an accessory with your outfit this summer, and the motto is the brighter the better. With neon colors such as lime yellow, hot pinks, corals, turquoise blues, and more this season is just bursting with new flavor– and I am loving it! Nail Art on top of the fun colors is an extra bonus. Depending on your mood for the week, go with what your heart desires. Have fun with it and most importantly don’t forget the more color the better!!

A New Earth Book Review

On my down time I love to read good books. The one that I’m on now is titled, “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle. A little background on the author- “Eckhart Tolle is a contemporary spiritual teacher who travels extensively taking his message throughout the world.” I have been learning so much from this book and really feel as if my perspective has shifted in the most positive way. I am always looking for a great, positive read because as we are all growing in this fascinating yet fast paced world and getting some insight is always helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to learn- learn about spirituality, about positive thinking, and about new perspectives. Everything starts in our mind and when we are in control of our thinking, we are in control of ourselves. We learn to love ourselves and embrace it all. I’m almost through this book and honestly must admit the beginning has a lot of background information. Most of the time I did not really understand how it would tie in, but to understand the moral of the book you must understand the information being told first. A great summer read, check it out naturalistas! 😉

To a new month

At the start of every month I like to reflect on the past month and set new goals for the new month that is ahead. June is a new month of infinite possibilities and I am very excited to welcome it with open arms and much anticipation. Sunshine and warm weather always brings me joy, renewal, and insight. I find myself spending more time outside and enjoying the simple things that life has to offer us. There are so many events to look forward too and time to spend with loved ones. Ready.Set.Grow Happy June to all my naturalista fashionista’s ❤

Who run the world?

Today was simply the best. I graduated college and started a new chapter in my life. So much has gone into this and I truly feel blessed beyond belief that I got to share this day with my loves. Life has been a whirlwind of events the past couple of weeks and I am embracing all life has sent to me. There is so much for me to reflect on and today I really felt it. That diploma that I received signifies so much – so much hard work and dedication. Hearing the speeches and being amongst other graduates was such an incredible feeling that words can’t even express! I feel unstoppable and ready for it all.

Here are some pics. from my day! With such excitement I forgot to take a pic of my outfit! Kept it flirty and fun with my H&M floral print dress and Steve Madden wedges.

Flowers bring me Serenity

Last week I went to The Orchid Show in the Bronx Botanical Garden and simply fell.in.love.and.peace. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in my life. Orchids are my favorite and being surrounded by so many different kinds as well as colors and shapes, just took me into another world. I was elated by the gorgeous, vibrant colors that surrounded me and felt so at ease. Just observing each room of the orchid exhibition brought me closer and closer to peacefulness. It was an experience I wish you ALL can have and one that I will cherish for a while. I will definitely be going back soon, just need that beautiful sunshine weather to bask in 🙂

Here are some pictures I took from the garden as well as the exhibition.. enjoy 🙂

My outfit: Vintage ankle length skirt, Tan gladiator style wedges, Forever 21 Denim Jacket and black tee underneath. Accessories kept simple with baby blue studs and my favorite H&M necklace 🙂
