Here is a quick re-cap of my time during NYFW this past September. I had the pleasure of attending a show in the tent at Lincoln Center – Fashion Shenzhen – courtesy of my friend, Martha Luna of http://www.mdollynyc.com. The tent was packed full of celebs, fashion bloggers, photographers, editors, and more! It’s such an exhilarating feeling to be in Lincoln Center for NYFW. Everything from getting your ticket, to getting seated and wondering who the person next to you will be, to the flashing photographers just gives you a rush like no other. The scene, the ambiance, the feeling is different than anything I have ever experienced before. I just love it.
The show opened up with the designer, Guoxin Xia of Ellasay. The entire collection was exquisite. Some of the trends that stood out to me were the crisp icy whites paired with the box-y ombre jackets, the simple combo of black and white, asymmetrical dresses, and hologram details. I found this collection to be trendy yet wear-able. The designer kept in mind the modern woman and you could tell by the easy silhouettes. I felt like I could wear almost every outfit coming down the runway. (or at least I would LOVE to)
The second show was probably one of my favorite shows I have ever been to! I absolutely loved the entire collection, including the makeup, hair, fabrics, music. I was blown away by every piece that came down the runway. Designer, Deng Hao, kept the Chinese culture in mind while designing these exquisite dresses. The details and vibrant colors blew me away. Whimsical to say the least, Deng Hao took me to a place I’ve never been to! I felt like I was in a Chinese tea garden party with the most elite. I loved every second of it.
I’m looking forward to see their next collection. I love how each designer has its own vision and it’s very clear when you see their work. Although they both have very different signature styles, they still compliment each other in a traditional way that stays close to the Chinese heritage and culture.
My outfit- Prabal Gurung x Target Shirt, H&M skirt, Steve Madden Wedges, Vince Camuto accessories.
