If you’re living on the East Coast, you know that winter is still very present. I’ve learned over the years to try and make friends with this horrible cold and dress more appropriately. Luckily, there are some cute trends out this F/W that are inspiring to me. My favorite trend that works with my personal style is the “fuzzy” sweater. Besides the warmth, the fuzzy look gives it a very cozy and angel- like feeling. I’ve seen these sweaters all over the place but the ones below are some of my personal favorites. So, this winter you can stay fashionable and warm. 🙂
Ciara looking lovely in pink 🙂 Personally, I like these types of sweaters in more pastel colors or even just a white. It adds a more innocent look to it.
Let’s not forget the orginial…!
In honor of National Bikini Day I thought it would be fun to look back in time at the time-less, vintage bikini’s. On July 5, 1946 the first two piece bathing suit was named and born into the world! How cool! I love learning about interesting facts like those. The story behind the bikini is super cool too. Louis Réard, a former automotive engineer and designer of the bikini, was working one day in his mother’s lingerie shop and got inspired to create this bathing suit. This took place, of course, in Paris, France. The name “bikini” came from the atomic bomb that US dropped in the Pacific Ocean at a place called Bikini Atoll. Kind of a strange way to come up with a name, but hey it fits! Since July 5, 1946 this bikini has made an appearance in all sorts of trends/ways.
I love mixing and matching my suits, there are some many options on how to rock your bombshell bod. Take a look at some of my favorite iconic bikini’s from the past and a few of myself in some vintage inspired looks! 🙂

Every First Saturday of the month Brooklyn Museum throws a huge, free, open party. This is usually with special artists (this month was Jesse Boykins) amazing art exhibits, and a DJ. Everyone comes out in their fashion forward outfit and mingles while being surrounded by the most beautiful art and sculptures. It’s such a great event and I try to go almost every month! It starts around 7 pm and ends at 11 pm but Brooklyn is full of nightlife and great restaurants to finish off your night.
The style you see at first Saturdays is absolutely incredible! It’s such a “scene” as my best friend, Lilly, describes it. Guys and girls just show out in the most funky and trendy outfits!
This time I felt like being a bit bold and mixing a print with a bright neon color.

Lately, I have been into sheer black more than ever! Even though I am and will always be a huge fan of vibrant colors there is something about this new trend that I am just loving. Black is always a classic choice but sheer black just oozes a mix between edgy and elegance. The long sheer skirts are everywhere right now and I love the versatility of them. Day or night/ boot or heel/ casual t-shirt/ fancy blouse.. possibilities are endless! My favorite!
Here are some of the naturalista fashionista’s rockin’ their sheer black.. Inspired? .. I think so! ( Olivia Palermo is Killin it’ with her all sheer black ensemble and pop of turquoise jewelry. The slick back parted hairstyle and red lip is just a cherry on top of this fab. outfit. )
Here are some options to incorporate in your wardrobe to achieve this look.. Remember one item at a time then mix and match pieces for a less match-y outfit. (It’s all black anyway) 😉 Pair with a black ankle boot for an edgy feel or a sleek high heel for a more elegant feel…And you’re all Sheer Black Everything !

One of my favorite pieces of jewelry has to be my vintage gold choker. Chokers have come a long way from the early 90’s! I just love the sophistication they bring to any outfit. I am all about accessorizing an outfit up, but sometimes I like to keep it classic with a nice bold choker and some studded earrings. The choker has been seen on many celebs this fall and even on the fall runways of Vena Cava and Yves Saint Laurent. Whether they are studded, pearled, braided, or jeweled, they are a must have piece for the fall. Open ended chokers are also my new fall fave craze, gotta get my hands on a vintage one. They are so subtly sexy and I am just in love–that will be my mission to find one ..I’ll keep ya’ll updated 🙂
