As much as I’m obsessed with summer and the gorge weather, one of my other fave seasons is FALL. Mostly because of the amazing fashion and NYFW, of course 🙂 The hottest trend right now is the wedge sneaker. I must admit that although I always like to be fashion forward, not all trends are suitable for me. I pick and choose what I like the best and add my own flair to it. Being confident within yourself is the best way to rock a trend 😉
This new twist to the sneaker is an inspiration of the fab Isabel Marant. Totally puts the chic and edge into a sneaker. Every store is re-creating them for a range of decisions for us fashionistas. Steve Madden, Aldo, Urban Outffitters are just some of the major stores you can find them. With different colors and textures the possibilities are endless!
I have my eye on leather black for this Fall.. check out some of my faves and how celebs we love rocked them:
While shopping and strollin’ in Soho yesterday my friend and I noticed a trend that we were a bit unsure of. Velvet. Some love it and some stay far away because it has the potential (ill-fitting) to not accentuate your body in the best way. One of the most important things about a luxury velvet fabric is fit. It’s truly supposed to be form-fitting to accentuate every curve rather than loose where it looks like you are wearing a velvet curtain.
While I am not a huge fan of velvet, I like to incorporate it in small doses. Sometimes trends are not fit for every woman, we each have different styles, different body shapes and we should marry them with the trend that we like and that fits us. Instead of following a trend, let the trend follow you. Here are some finds that I personally like and might inspire you to give velvet a try!
AA Velvet Pencil Skirt in Plum Perfect & Black ($40)
Urban Outfitters crushed velvet legging (Insight)
Jeffrey Campbell ($163)
One of my current trend obsessions: Leather Sleeves. I am all about leather jackets especially the bombers but there is something subtle and sexy about a hint of leather on the sleeves. Some of the fab celebs are rockin’ this trend and I got inspired myself! Of course, you can go out and buy an ultra glam jacket or think creatively. This year I am rockin’ the fur vest all the way, so why not put it on top of a leather jacket.(see pic. below) 1. You are Leather sleeved glam! 2. Layers upon layers are so winter hot 3. Warmth!
This is my recent leather sleeve look:
