Naturalista Fashionista

The Devil may wear Prada, but does she read bell hooks?

Who run the world?

Today was simply the best. I graduated college and started a new chapter in my life. So much has gone into this and I truly feel blessed beyond belief that I got to share this day with my loves. Life has been a whirlwind of events the past couple of weeks and I am embracing all life has sent to me. There is so much for me to reflect on and today I really felt it. That diploma that I received signifies so much – so much hard work and dedication. Hearing the speeches and being amongst other graduates was such an incredible feeling that words can’t even express! I feel unstoppable and ready for it all.

Here are some pics. from my day! With such excitement I forgot to take a pic of my outfit! Kept it flirty and fun with my H&M floral print dress and Steve Madden wedges.

MET Gala Fashion Love

The MET GALA is always something to look forward to in my book; mostly for the fashion! I love meshing art, fashion, and music. Celebs always push the envelope and wear the most outrageous yet amazing styles ever! Sarah Jessica Parker is always my favorite! She is such a style icon and wows me every year with something new, fresh ,and extravagant. Another favorite of mine was Rihanna wearing Tom Ford– need that dress in my life ASAP! So fly and the fit was perfect.

Here are some more of my faves from the glamorous night:

Jump Up!

Jump suits are my absolute fave spring/summer outfit. They are so simple, chic, and perfect for any day/night event. Dress them up or down, a jumper is essential for every woman. This season color splashes as well as bold prints are making a come back and I love joining both together. One shoulder or strapless is super cute too! Pair with some fab accessories and you are all set for the warm weather! So essential, jump up to this trend ;)

Flowers bring me Serenity

Last week I went to The Orchid Show in the Bronx Botanical Garden and simply fell.in.love.and.peace. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in my life. Orchids are my favorite and being surrounded by so many different kinds as well as colors and shapes, just took me into another world. I was elated by the gorgeous, vibrant colors that surrounded me and felt so at ease. Just observing each room of the orchid exhibition brought me closer and closer to peacefulness. It was an experience I wish you ALL can have and one that I will cherish for a while. I will definitely be going back soon, just need that beautiful sunshine weather to bask in :)

Here are some pictures I took from the garden as well as the exhibition.. enjoy :)

My outfit: Vintage ankle length skirt, Tan gladiator style wedges, Forever 21 Denim Jacket and black tee underneath. Accessories kept simple with baby blue studs and my favorite H&M necklace :)

Affordable designer fashion is definitely the best of the best! On April 17th Alberta Ferretti’s new collection for Macy’s will drop in all stores.  With prices from $49-$119 Ferretti’s collection is full of chunky sweaters, maxi dresses, strapless tops, and of course on trend print. The shoot is absolutely divine, shot in Italy on the Amalfi coast. The bright-colored dresses against the backgrounds is so exquisite, makes me want to take a vacation myself! ..With some of the designer’s amazing clothing, of course ;)

Jennifer Lopez for VOGUE

“You mirror what the world mirrors to you,” Jennifer Lopez says.

Jennifer Lopez graced the cover of VOGUE and looked absolutely FAB in red. Newly single and ready to conquer the world yet again, this naturalista fashionista looks amazing in her red Valentiono dress! Red is such a spicy and sultry color, and the best part is that it works on every skin tone! Very appropriate for a nice night out or a romantic date night. Either way red is a staple in any women’s closet and J.Lo is doing it justice! This is her second VOGUE cover spread, her first one was in 2005. Go Girl!

Prints Lovin’

I am a HUGE fan of prints- floral/animal/geometric/retro/hearts and my new current obsession, Mirrored! This print is SO fly because it’s colorful and interesting to the eye. Anything that can be a statement piece is okay in my book. As seen all over the runways such as Prabal Gurung, D&G, Etro, Peter Pilotto, and Alberta Ferretti designers have mastered this technique of mirror-ing a beautiful print on flowy tops, dresses, and my fave- pencil skirts. It’s super cute and fun, the print and adds that much more color to your spring/summer wardrobe. Why just have one amazing print when you can double the fashion pleasure?
